EMENDY is preparing their students with sought after Unity Technologies skills in South Africa
EMENDY Multimedia Institute has just signed to become the first Unity Academic Alliance (UAA) partner in South Africa.
The UAA is made up of a consortium of forward-thinking, post-secondary education institutions that are committed to furthering their interactive design or development programs by teaching Unity. By joining this program, alliance members receive exclusive Unity benefits and resources that will allow them to implement Unity into their curriculum, either for the first time or deepen the existing curriculum.
Unity is the creator of the world’s leading real-time 3D development platform, giving users the most powerful and accessible tools to create, operate, and monetize experiences for the real-time world.
EMENDY chose to join the UAA because the skills and conceptual development inherent in the use of Unity will enable learners to develop a cognitive framework geared towards creating an inspiring future. EMENDY also works closely with KnowledgePoint, who was named a Unity Learning Services Distributor earlier this year.

EMENDY is looking forward to working closely with Unity and other institutions in the consortium, to provide our learners with current, industry-relevant skills and practices to create innovative content,” said Lorenz Penkler, Academic Director at EMENDY.
EMENDY is using Unity as the main engine in their Higher Certificate in Game Design Development. As part of the UAA, EMENDY will be integrating content developed by Unity to augment the relevance and broaden the scope of learning offered. EMENDY will be launching an “Introduction to Game Development with Unity” course in the second half of the year, to grow the Unity user base in Southern Africa.

KnowledgePoint is the Unity Learning Services Distributor, helping to grow the community of UAA members in EMEA. EMENDY students will gain access to high-quality, up to date learning material written and maintained by Unity. Their instructors will also be certified by Unity. EMENDY will have the opportunity to select two students to join the Unity Student Ambassador Program.
