The third annual edition of the Autodesk Designathon was concluded on 22 July 2025 through an Awards Ceremony to announce the winning teams and celebrate all participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student teams sharpened their Autodesk Fusion skills, learned new workflows and collaborated to answer this year\u2019s challenge in Designathon 2025.\u00a0They were asked to design an outdoor student hub powered by renewable energy, which was functional, accessible and kind to the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results were truly inspiring. 178 design projects were submitted \u2013 a 73% increase <\/strong>on Designathon 2024 \u2013 each bringing creative and technically strong solutions to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quality of the projects submitted was outstanding and our jury had a difficult job in selecting the top teams, which is showcased by multiple teams sharing the third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DESIGNATHON 2025 WINNERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each winning team will receive a cash reward\/gift certificate and an allocation of Autodesk Certified Associate exams for their team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sketch 42 from T\u00fcrkiye<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaan Karag\u00f6z | Leyla \u00d6ztoktay | Alaaddin \u015eenli<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by their university campus, Team Sketch 42 said: \u201cWe mainly tried to create solutions for the climate of Ankara. And for the aesthetics we also used the brutal and natural look of our campus.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment from the jury:<\/strong> \u201cThis project was selected as the first-place winner due to its combination of exceptional 3D modelling, attention to detail and design aesthetics. Combining semi-enclosed and open-air spaces, the design offers students an accessible, multi-functional and aesthetically-pleasing hub. Solar-powered, the project clearly takes into account its impact on the environment.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about placing second in this year\u2019s Designathon the team said: \u201cWe feel happy about it. There were so many projects that we really liked and a bit surprised how we got selected. We guess it is the concept and feeling that made it stand out.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment from the jury:<\/strong> “Its use of multiple renewable energy sources, combined with innovative design, made this a stand-out project. Its ability to adapt to the season and time of day, offers a flexible study and social space for students. The team clearly understood the brief, and brought their concept to life through excellent 3D modelling and renders.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shared by three teams who all reached the required scores for the third place.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KYO Design from Egypt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyrollos Shenoda | Youssef Nassar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team KYO Design took part in the Designathon because they wanted to sharpen their skills and challenge themselves: \u201cWe wanted to see where we stand compared to other talented designers. It was also a great opportunity to test our level in Fusion and learn from the approaches and creativity of other competitors.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment from the jury:<\/strong> “The quirky nature-inspired design captured our attention and marked this project out for recognition. The organic design utilises solar-power and encourages airflow around the space. It offers an accessible outdoor hub where students can gather to work and collaborate.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Barely Bearing recognise the value the Designathon can have on future careers: \u201cGetting to showcase the fact that we got third place out of 178 teams might be a selling point for certain employers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment from the jury:<\/strong> “We liked this project for its use of natural materials and for the integration of renewable energy solutions for study and travel. The design brings together a number of features which demonstrate the team\u2019s focus on sustainability and usability.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinayak Biju | Tejas | Saibik Dey<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about their experience of taking part in the Designathon, the team said: \u201cThe best part was the immense help from the student experts as well as the supportiveness of the hosts.\u00a0The toughest aspect was completing the design, rendering and briefing of the design within the packed timeframe.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comments from the jury:<\/strong> “We were impressed with how understanding of local climatic conditions clearly inspired the design for this outdoor student hub. By capitalising upon these conditions for its design and energy-supply, it offers a multi-level and functional space for students.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designathon 2025 Wild Card<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wildcard recognition was handed out directly by Autodesk to a team who submitted a technically sophisticated and well-designed project. The team members will receive an allocation of Autodesk Certified Associate exams.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
