REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be a student at a technical college, university or an Autodesk Academic Partner.
  • You must enter as a team – the minimum team size is 2 people, the maximum is 3 people.
  • You must be over the age of 18 years
  • You should participate in both days of the Designathon.
  • You will need access to a computer with an internet connection to take part.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • Prior to the Designathon, you should install and activate Autodesk Fusion on your machine. You can register for the free education plan on the Autodesk Education Community if you meet Autodesk’s eligibility criteria.
  • You might want to let your tutors know you’re taking part – they may be interested in observing or may be able to offer some useful advice!
  • Please post on social media before, during and after the event!

FAQ

When is the Designathon happening?

The Designathon will run over two days. We’re organising an online training session on 26 June. 27 June is when the actual Designathon challenge will take place.

Do I have to be a student to participate in the Designathon?

Yes, you need to be a student at a qualified education institution or registered in a training program delivered by an Autodesk Authorized Academic Partner.

Do I need prior knowledge of Autodesk Fusion to participate?

No, our Autodesk experts will deliver an online hands-on training on 26 June. The content covered in this workshop will give you the skills needed to use Fusion in the Designathon competition.

Can you tell me more about the competition challenge?

We have put together a briefing document, which provides some insight on what to expect from the competition. Please note though that we will not reveal the detailed competition brief until day 2 of the Designathon. This is to ensure fairness for all participants. You will have time to review the competition brief, evaluate options and come up with solutions on that day.

Do we have to register as a team?

Yes, the Designathon is a team challenge so we ask that you sign up a team of minimum 2 people and maximum 3 people. Please make sure that you enter the name and email address of each team member as part of the registration at https://forms.gle/yBarA2y6vKeuLFSf6.

How do I access Autodesk Fusion?

You can register for a free Autodesk education plan on the Education Community if you meet the eligibility criteria. You can review additional options for accessing Fusion on Autodesk‘s website.

We didn’t get a registration confirmation email

Is there any information about previous Designathons so I can learn more about the competition?

None of your sponsors are located in my country, can you provide some guidance?

We have chosen to partner with a select group of Autodesk Learning Partners for the Designathon. Please also note that day 1 of the Designathon will include hands-on training on Autodesk Fusion, which will give you the insights you and your team need to compete on day 2.

Will you share additional event information?

Yes, following your registration we will send out out a confirmation email. We will also follow up with additional practical information as we approach the event. Make sure you include all your team members’ contact details on the registration form to ensure that you don’t miss any important updates.
