Highlights from the 45th WorldSkills World Championship Kazan, Russia
WorldSkills Kazan 2019 was held from August 22-27. More than 1,300 competitors from 63 WorldSkills Member countries and regions competed in 56 skills. This was the largest international event in Russia in 2019.
Autodesk Inc. as a global partner of Building Information Modelling (BIM) competence at WorldSkills fostered a preparation of new generation professionals in the AEC area with top of the industry BIM skills.
This was the first time the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Competition Organizer used Building Information Modelling to manage the development of the competition site. The digital twin of the Competition’s website ⎼ in 3D information model ⎼ is developed on the basis of Autodesk BIM 360 platform and contains all data on the project.
BIM is also the youngest competence in the FutureSkills family, the Competitors used #Revit, #Navisworks, and #BIM360 during the competition
“WorldSkills is an amazing platform for students to showcase their skills and get connected to the Industry. The energy and mere commitment followed through by the members of the KnowledgePoint family has made it possible to adopt the new BIM competence in such a wide scale.” Pert Manin, Technical Director of Autodesk CIS
It has been only a fantastic 18-month experience for KnowledgePoint Engage to be part of enabling this initiative and supporting Autodesk on an eventful WorldSkills journey from young professionals competing in the WorldSkills International #SkillsOlympics reinforced by an #expert team of #trainers & #coaches
Please also join us in wishing the best of luck to our UK BIM Competition Students as a part of the WorldSkills UK Live in November 2019.
Stay tuned!

About
Autodesk Inc.
Autodesk builds software that helps people imagine, design, and make a better world. Autodesk is a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.
Building Information Modelling
BIM is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project across the project lifecycle. One of the key outputs of this process is the Building Information Model, the digital description of every aspect of the built asset. This model draws on information assembled collaboratively and is updated at key stages of a project. Creating a digital Building Information Model enables those who interact with the building to optimize their actions, resulting in a greater whole life value for the asset.
